ONE YEAR ONE HOME

One Year One Home is a programme aimed at providing home to the needy. Every Thursday an amount is collected from the students for this endeavour. Kristu Jyoti group is involved in a number of activities under Social Service League to serve the poor. It helps to develop the humanitarian concern among the students through distributing clothes, uniforms, notebooks etc., and also by visiting old age homes, orphanages, physically and mentally challenged, and the destitute etc. The group is fully owned by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, the first indigenous religious congregation.

AMENITIES

Bus, store, canteen, and bank facilities are available in the campus. School has a well- stacked library with more than 3284 books, 23 magazines and 5 newspapers. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer labs are fully equipped. Computer lab is equipped with the latest computers and has 10 MBPS internet connectivity. Smart classes are an added advantage to the learning process.

ASSEMBLY

Assembly is conducted class wise throughout the Academic Year. The agenda is to enhance the leadership quality and to develop the speaking skill in each learner. The moral based skit and a few more activities (Pledge, Conversation, Thought for the day, Speech etc.) are the highlights of our Assembly.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION

The hallmark event of Kristu Jyoti Vidya Niketan - the Science Exhibition, St. Chavara Learner’s Bonanza is held every year with the theme - Explore the World Around. It gives the student a hands-on experience on many of the concepts and knowledge they learned in their class room. The nearby schools are invited to this mega event.

COUNSELLING

Timely interference by experts in giving right orientation to students is of paramount importance in carving out a healthy human being. At the request of class teachers or parents the child can approach the Guidance and Counselling Cell and seek help for any of their doubts in holistic development.

SPIRITUALTY

Every first Friday we conduct Holy mass for the Christian students. Religion classes are conducted for Christians and Moral Science is conducted for students of all other religions. The school conduct three days retreat for all the students.
